YFG Summer School
11-13 July 2008

new YFG logo - 2007YFG Summer School will take place on 11-13 July in the beautiful medieval town of Carlingford, Co. Louth. With a whole array of great activities in this watersports mecca to complement our planned discussions & social events, all will take place under the impressionable backdrop of the Mourne Mountains on the scenic Cooley penninsula.

The YFG National Executive is calling for YFG branches to submit motions to this year’s Summer School. The motions will be discussed during a session on Sunday morning 13 July. Motions can be on a topic of your choice that will allow members to debate issues of relevance. Please submit your branches motions to yfg@finegael.com by 5pm on Friday 4 July.

To book your place, call Susie on 01-6198444 or email susie@finegael.com
It would be a great social weekend for all concerned!

Motions

1) In light of the ridiculous new restrictions on provisional licences, Young Fine Gael calls for the introduction of regulations which allow all provisional licence holders to drive unaccompanied between the hours of 6am and 9pm, but which require them to observe a curfew on the roads from 9am to 6am.
Proposed by National Executive -- PASSED

2) Young Fine Gael opposes the government’s plan to force all nightclubs to close at the same time as this will put the Garda, service industry and emergency services under greater pressure.

3) YFG supports the introduction of the Civil Partnership Bill as a major breakthrough for equal rights amongst Irish citizens.
