YFG Maynooth News Update

Since September Young Fine Gael in Maynooth have held two talks on two very important topics.
Firstly there was the talk on civil partnership with Senator Sheila Terry. this talk was concerned with the area of same sex relationships and the creation of an agreement which would give certain rights to couples. This was a topic which was never discussed in Maynooth before by any political party.

Our most recent talk was held on Dec 7th with Enda Kenny TD Leader of Fine Gael and Sen. Brian Hayes Spokesperson on Northern Ireland. A large number attended this talk, which was extremely informative. The issues discussed varied from iraq to affordable housing to Northern Ireland and allowed students to share there views.

We also had Mairead McGuinness MEP out for two hours one Monday to meet with students and staff and discuss concerns, which many of them did.
 
So there you have it YFG Maynooth do not just sit around and do nothing, they contribute greatly on campus. in the first semester of this year no other political party have brought so many high profile names to campus.

YFG are by far the most active political party on campus.
